  • Modest regional growth expected ahead: GDP Growth in the Latin America and Caribbean region is predicted to reach 2.3 percent in 2026, according to estimates from the World Bank. This represents a slight increase over the 2.2 percent growth reported for 2025.
  • Regulatory changes concerning gender diversity are in focusfor 2026 as Brazil has enacted a requirement that at least 30 percent of board seats at state-owned and mixed-capital companies be held by women. Simultaneously, Chile will phase in a requirement that no more than 60 percent of a company’s board seats be held by members of the same gender.
  • Meeting concentration remains elevated in the Latin America region, creating structural obstacles for international institutional investors. In Brazil, the largest market covered in the region, approximately 57-percent of all annual shareholder meetings covered during the 2025 proxy season were held on the last four business days of April. In Mexico, the second largest market in the region, meeting concentration on those same last four business days of April reached 51 percent of all shareholder meetings covered in the market.
