ROCKVILLE, Md. (November 12, 2024) — ISS Governance, a leading global provider of independent and objective shareholder meeting research and agenda recommendations, alongside cutting-edge voting solutions, and unit of ISS STOXX, today announced enhancements to its ProxyExchange voting platform to integrate a wide array of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data and analytics currently found on its DataDesk platform for ESG screening.
ISS ProxyExchange allows users to streamline their proxy voting activities through proven expertise and innovation, allowing users to better manage the entire voting process. With rich content, intuitive yet tailored workflows, and secure technologies, ProxyExchange is a preferred platform for the world’s leading institutional investors. DataDesk, meanwhile, complements traditional proxy research with information often overlooked by traditional analytics, from robust ESG data to expert insights into corporate performance, board practices, director characteristics, and shareholder rights. Through DataDesk, institutional investors can access a global, integrated view of their portfolios’ ESG and corporate governance performance, enabling them to analyze trends, assess progress, and identify areas for improvement.
With this latest update, ProxyExchange users will gain more tools to support their governance strategy and provide a more holistic view of a portfolio company’s long-term sustainability and risk profile. The integration will afford ProxyExchange users freemium access to actionable insights on thousands of issuers via this enhancement. Users with subscriptions to both ISS ESG and ISS Governance offerings will be able to access additional ESG research, analytics, and portfolio reporting through the link to DataDesk, providing a more integrated experience. It also allows seamless navigation from ProxyExchange to DataDesk to explore ESG insights, including Cyber Risk, ESG Ratings, and SDG Impact Ratings, with the new “View ESG Data” button on Company Profiles. Furthermore, users can create their own screens, based on any subscribed solution within DataDesk, and push company-level output from those screens to ProxyExchange. Users can also then publish issuer watchlists created in DataDesk directly to ProxyExhange.
“This functionality addresses a long-standing objective of deeper integration of ISS STOXX’s governance and ESG offerings that will greatly benefit our clients through a range of potential uses,” said Brian Russo, Head of Investment Stewardship Product at ISS STOXX. “As an example and in the near-term, I expect the addition of DataDesk screens to ProxyExchange will support investors’ engagements with portfolio companies ahead of the 2025 annual meeting season.”
ISS ProxyExchange is also releasing an updated Knowledge Center which is a comprehensive and searchable resource that centralizes ISS’ latest reports, thought leadership, platform guides, and product updates.
