LONDON (June 9, 2022) – Institutional Shareholder Services Inc. (ISS), a leading provider of corporate governance and responsible investment solutions to financial market participants, today announced the forthcoming launch of its new Global Proxy Distribution (GPD) Golden Agenda API, an Application Programming Interface (API) which allows clients to leverage ISS’ existing premium GPD Golden Agenda content and integrate meeting notification information directly into their internal systems.
By way of background, ISS brings its market-leading understanding of the complex practicalities of regulatory requirements, such as the EU Shareholder Rights Directive II (SRD II), and specialist local market governance knowledge to its suite of GPD solutions for custodians and intermediaries. Rather than relying only on information received through the custody chain, ISS’ existing GPD Golden Agenda solution leverages ISS’ pro-actively sourced meeting and agenda data. This data is curated, translated and standardized by ISS’ multi-lingual network of governance analysts, located worldwide, developed to power all of our premium governance solutions.
“In addition to leveraging ISS’ premium content, the seamless new Golden Agenda API distribution mechanism allows clients to receive meeting information from ISS in a secure manner with increased efficiency and frequency,” said Rudi Kuntz, Head of Global Proxy Distribution at ISS.
Many intermediaries spend valuable time and effort integrating shareholder meeting data into their systems in order to facilitate proxy voting services and deliver shareholder meeting notifications to their clients. “ISS GPD Golden Agenda API solutions can reduce manual work, increase efficiency and better support proxy distribution and voting activities by securely utilizing the API process,” Kuntz added.
ISS’ new GPD Golden Agenda API goes fully live in Q3 2022 and provides clients with the option to subscribe to the full coverage universe of 68,000 shareholder meeting notifications across 118 markets without having to deliver a holdings file to ISS. Existing Golden Agenda datapoints have been augmented with new datapoints relating to SRD II requirements where available.
“ISS continues to innovate and invest in solutions and services throughout the value chain for the benefit of custodians and intermediaries, as well as our institutional investor clients broadly,” said Lorraine Kelly, Head of ISS Governance Solutions. “With more than 35 years of history and industry leadership, ISS is the most experienced, pioneering, and trusted governance and voting provider in the market.”
