ZUG/LONDON (May 8, 2025) — STOXX Ltd., part of the ISS STOXX group of companies, and Global X ETFs Europe, a leading provider of exchange-traded funds (ETFs), today announce their expanding collaboration with the launch of the Global X EURO STOXX 50 Covered Call UCITS ETF now tracking the EURO STOXX 50® Covered Call ATM Index.
The launch further expands the collaboration between STOXX, a leading provider of benchmark and custom index solutions, and Global X ETFs Europe, a specialist in thematic growth, income, commodity and defined-outcome strategies. The EURO STOXX 50® Covered Call ATM (“At The Money”) Index is designed to measure the performance of a hypothetical portfolio reflecting a covered call investment strategy based on the EURO STOXX 50® Index, Europe’s leading blue-chip index for the Eurozone. It reflects a strategy in which an investor buys the EURO STOXX 50® Index as an underlying instrument and simultaneously sells a EURO STOXX 50 ATM call option traded at Eurex.
“Covered call strategies have provided a way for investors to receive an alternative income stream that is driven mainly by market volatility,” said Rob Oliver, Head of Global X Europe. “The EURO STOXX 50 Covered Call is our third covered call UCITS product and may be attractive to investors looking to receive monthly income whilst being invested in European stocks.”
“The EURO STOXX 50 is the flagship Eurozone equity index, and we are committed to providing innovative solutions linked to it that support investor portfolio diversification. We are pleased to offer this index to Global X ETFs Europe,” said Axel Lomholt, General Manager at STOXX. “Our EURO STOXX 50® Covered Call ATM Index can support the provision of an alternative income stream linked to our flagship benchmark for Eurozone equities.”
Since launching in 2020, Global X ETFs Europe has been committed to providing European investors with innovative solutions and expertise. The firm recently surpassed $2 billion in assets under management (AUM) and offers a product lineup featuring over 35 strategies. From its product lineup, seven of its funds currently have more than $100 million in assets, including the Global X U.S. Infrastructure Development UCITS ETF (PAVE) and the Global X Nasdaq 100 Covered Call UCITS ETF (QYLD), both of which have individually gathered over $400 million in assets.
